Excel is underutilized by legal secretaries — at least in part because most law firms don’t offer adequate training on it. If you have Microsoft Office Professional installed on your work PC, then you have Excel. You should always consider using it for any document that will primarily consist of a table – especially if the data will need to be easily sortable, or if any math more complex than adding a column of figures is involved.
